You should document the extenuating circumstance you are listing on your petition by submitting a note (on official letterhead) from a doctor, counselor or legal system representative that notes the nature of the issue and the date(s) the issue occurred.
Citing such issues as work or extra-curricular commitments, not being aware of college deadlines, and the difficulty level of course material will not result in your appeal approval.

The Academic Standards Office and its committee consider each claim on its own merits and carefully review submitted supporting documentation to determine if it is credible and sufficient to support the appeal/waiver.
